An informed thought experiment exploring the potential for a paradigm shift in aquatic food production

In this work, we developed a thought experiment to compare the shift from hunting and gathering on land to the potential shift from fishing to fish farming in sea. We discuss similarities and differences which may impact a complete transition to aquaculture in the future.
